Sustainable Bioeconomy for Arid Regions

Our project explores the uniqueness of our arid region,  the human-environmental interactions, and how people have historically survived by harvesting, growing, and creating systems to provide food and protection. Our education team interprets the SBAR research and extension activities to create engaging lessons and learning activities for secondary school classrooms.

Linking Southwest Heritage through Archaeology

Students and teachers learn about ancestral Tuzigoot residents.

Linking Southwest Heritage Through Archaeology (LSWHTA) is a program that connects youth from the southwest to their cultural histories using regional archaeology as a bridge. LSWHTA offers students and teachers the opportunity for hands-on, behind-the-scenes archaeological experiences at cultural sites, in university labs, and at regional national parks.
